Seminal Shoegaze legends RIDE return to Australia and New Zealand for their first headline tour in over 25 years!
Forming in Oxford, England in 1988, RIDE set the blueprint for the shoegaze scene with the release of their landmark debut album ‘Nowhere’- a timeless classic which spurred the emergence of a new generation of psychedelic bands to follow.

The album’s first single ‘Future Love’ features their trademark?kaleidoscopic wall of sound and is what Andy Bell describes as “a song about the beginning of a relationship, when everything feels possible.”
Comprised of Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Loz Colbert, and Steve Queralt, RIDE have sold out headline tours around the world to a plethora of critical acclaim.?

Ride have been at it for 30 years now, albeit with a massive 20 year gap in between incarnations. The current one is more polished than the first-- mostly due to better on-stage monitoring (it's easier to sing in tune when you can actually hear yourself). While part of me misses the sometimes shambolic craziness of their circa 1990-91 shows (I'm an old punk), the fact is that this is a top-flight rock & roll band that plays excellently crafted songs. And that's the thing, isn't it? No egos, just music, and a great mix of styles. I saw them three nights in a row in Southern California and they were just as good each and every night. Here's to another (*cough*) 30 years... ;)
Great acoustics at this venue. I’ve seen RIDE plenty of times and they sounded the best I’ve ever heard.
Phenom show... Incredibly tight band. At the top of their game!
RIDE is a band I’ve followed for 30-years and yes when they initially returned I wanted to hear my old favorites. When they started making new music I was nervous and excited to hear the outcome. Now they’re touring again and have this new output to share. Once again they were fantastic. A mix of old songs and new dotted the set. The classics (Taste, LATB, Drive Blind) were interspersed with future classics. Honestly, the best song of the night was Kill Switch. It’s a good tune on the album, but live it takes on a new energy. As for St. Andrews I have to say that this is a great place to see a show. If there’s a bad view in the building I haven’t been there. I’ve seen about 6 shows there in the last 5 years. Parking is easy and reasonable (about $10) in many adjacent lots and you can also find street parking. Arriving super early meant that I had plenty of waiting time, which meant a beer (M43) and time to chat up the security guard up by the stage. It’s worth noting that the security team at St. Andrews is professional and gracious. Act like an adult and they treat you like one. I could extend that to the bartenders as well.
It's nice to have Ride back. The new album is excellent and the material fits right in with their old catalog. I was in the balcony. Sound was OK, but not great. Instruments sounded good but the vocals were hard to hear. Between songs banter was impossible to comprehend. Table in the basement serving drinks and the merch stand was down there too. The building is very pretty, but I'm not sure it really works that well for this sort of show. Opening act sounded pretty good, but their sound mix wasn't so great.
Ride was as good as I had hoped they'd be. The set dragged for a song or two, but not for long. Drive blind kicked butt, taste was very good... A very good show, just short of mind blowing.
I waited over 15 years to see Ride tour again. With high expectations, the band exceeded them. Amazing performance. Truly underrated band. Great set list, remarkable musicians. An awesome show.
Waited twenty some years to see them again, thank you for amazing night!
Perfect show! High energy, great setlist, great sound.
