Machine Girl on Tour
The hardcore techno, jungle and breakcore music of Machine Girl embodies their fans in a swell of world-ending sounds and beats. This powerful electro-punk duo consists of founder Matt Stephenson on production/vocals and Sean Kelly on drums. Following the release of their 2022 album, Neon White Soundtrack (Part 1 and 2), Machine Girl commenced their 2022 tour across North America, making stops in Seattle, Massachusetts, Montreal, Toronto, and multiple locations in-between. Their live performances are filled with an extraterrestrial sound and unrelenting drums, causing audiences to vibrate with intensity to their very core. First emerging with their single, "Gravity Diva" in 2012, Machine Girl have continued to make mind-bending music for more than a decade. Machine Girl released their EPs 13th Hour and Electronic Gimp Music in 2013, followed by their debut album, WLFGRL in 2014. The group subsequently released the albums Gemini (2015), ...Because I'm Young Arrogant and Hate Everything You Stand For (2017), The Ugly Art (2018), U-Void Synthesizer (2020), Neon White Soundtrack Part 1?"The Wicked Heart" (2022), and Neon White Soundtrack Part 2 "The Burn That Cures" (2022).
Machine Girl Live in Concert
Formed in Long Island, New York, by Matt Stephenson in 2012, Machine Girl was originally a solo performance, with Sean Kelly officially joining in 2015. Machine Girl started with a number of singles and EPs that gathered a strong cult following. Influences for the group include Lightning Bolt, Melt-Banana, Boredoms, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Aphex Twin. Extensive touring became a common occurrence for Machine Girl in the mid-2010s, touring with Five Star Hotel in 2016. Machine Girl is correctly referred to as an otherworldly sound, because in the band's mission statement, Stephenson stated, "I want it to sound like alien music." Pushing against industry labels, Stephenson attempts to avoid a specific genre, showing this in their music by constantly changing and adapting. The name Machine Girl comes from a 2008 Japanese comedy/horror film called The Machine Girl. Often donning makeup during live performances, Stephenson and Kelly put on a live show you will not want to miss. Machine Girl's 2022 albums also serve as the soundtrack for the video game of the same name, Neon White. Machine Girl boasts more than 700,000 monthly listeners on Spotify with top tracks "Ghost" and "Athoth a Go!! Go!!" combining for more than 27 million streams.
