Los Angeles Angels History
The Los Angeles Angels joined Major League Baseball in 1961 as one of the league's first two expansion teams. As a member of the American League West, the Angels have won nine division titles between 1979 and 2014. The team also completed a miraculous postseason run in 2002 after securing their first Wild Card berth and advancing to win the AL Pennant and the Angels’ first World Series championship.
Between runs as the California and Anaheim Angels, the team hosted 14 future Hall of Fame players, including Nolan Ryan, Reggie Jackson, Rod Carew and Frank Robinson. In more recent years, the Angels have fielded three-time MVP Mike Trout, who has also claimed Rookie of the Year, the Silver Slugger nine times and the Hank Aaron Award twice, 2005 Cy Young winner Bartolo Colón and two-time MVP and three-time Edgar MartÃnez Award winner Shohei Ohtani.

Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim
Angel Stadium of Anaheim ("The Big A") is a 45,517 capacity ballpark that feels distinctly Californian. Looking out beyond center field, Interstate 5 sits below the Honda Center, home to the NHL's Anaheim Ducks, in the foreground, and a large waterfall fountain just over the fence shoots water and fireworks after every Angels home run.
