KIDZ BOP Kids on Tour
There is no stopping the 21st century's most massive musical empire: KIDZ BOP. Since first being introduced in 2001, the self-proclaimed "No. 1 music brand for kids" has transformed pop music's greatest hits — even the most explicit of chart-toppers — into kid-friendly versions. It's proven to be a huge success, with multiple albums reaching No. 1 on the U.S. Kids charts nearly every year. Naturally, the KIDZ BOP franchise eventually grew beyond just recording albums to becoming a live performance force to be reckoned with.?
After a nationwide talent search, the inaugural KIDZ BOP tour kicked off in 2007 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and hit up venues across the U.S. for more than six months. But it wasn't until seven years later that the brand took touring to a whole new level.?
In 2014, the Dream Big, Sing Loud tour landed in more than 40 cities around the nation with the cast singing current hits by artists like Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran, and Katy Perry. This led to similar new tours each year, including 2015's Make Some Noise tour, 2016's Life of the Party tour, and 2017's Best Time Ever tour.?
Also in 2017, KIDZ BOP expanded beyond the U.S., forming a cast of British KIDZ BOP Kids exclusively for the U.K. audience. But they also remained a hot ticket in the States, launching the KIDZ BOP Live 2018 Tour, followed by the KIDZ BOP World Tour in 2019.
Of course, each year features new performers, new songs, and new choreography. During these tours, the Kids perform more than 50 live shows each year. The seven-kid cast is chosen through a nationwide casting call that picks young talents to sing on the KIDZ BOP albums, star in their music videos, and travel North America as part of the KIDZ BOP Kids live tours. These kids are all multi-talent threats (some even have Broadway credits already to their name) and may just be future pop stars themselves.
What a bummer. No singing, just soundtrack played while the kids bop danced on stage. A waste of time…
My daughter , 9, loves listening to Kidz Bop so I thought a live show would be fun for both of us. I was very wrong. The stage is minimally decorated with a couple of led covered platforms and a large screen behind. There were four kids, dancing and lip syncing to the Kidz Bob songs. I felt bad for them. That was it. I was expecting more kids on stage and more interaction between the performers and the audience. What interaction there was was prerecorded. The little kids that were there seemed to have a good time, and it was fun way them enjoy themselves, but my daughter and I were unimpressed and left early.
This was my daughter's first concert. I was expecting more than 4 dancers. For a kid's show it has a lot of room for improvement. More special effects other than two blasts of confetti would be great. More dancers. Less use of the big screen- we can see that at home. Definitely for kids below 10.
There were only four performers in boring outfits and the 100% lip syncing. Barely any production and two crew. Very poorly done and not worth $80+ a ticket. Not to mention there wasn’t any close parking to the outdoor venue, no directional signs and poor choice during the very hot summer days/nights.
From a parents point of view...it was obvious that 95% of the time the performers were lip syncing. Most songs the vocals sounded the same song after song...and it got annoying after a short while. There's lots of songs on the setlist, but some were 30 seconds, a majority were 1 - 2 minutes, and very few reached the 3 minute mark. I suppose this makes sense for kids with shorter attention spans. I'd say this show is good for 4/5 - 8 year olds who would be happy seeing four 11-16 year olds doing choreographed moves to poor quality recorded songs. The 11 year olds we took were not that impressed, so if I had to do it over again I wouldn't purchase tickets.
Concert was much shorter than anticipated and included a long intermission. Concessions were long and not enough open during intermission
Grand Daughters 4 and 9 had the time of their life ~ great 1st time concert venue experience for them ??
Show was great for the kids! A little shorter than I anticipated considering the price, but glad it wasn't a late one for the kids.
Fun show for my 6yo 1st concert. We got 2nd to the front row tickets. After intermission it was super crowded with kids dancing. I didn’t mind the kids dancing to the side but kinda wished security didn’t let the kids stand right in front of the stage bc it made it hard for my little one to see. She felt over crowded. We left early bc she got bored towards the end when it was getting over crowded when she couldn’t dance as easy. We were still able to make memories so we are happy. If I could do it again I would have brought cheaper tickets/seats. Not worth sitting close to stage.
My Yaya took us to the concert. We had a lot of fun.
