EMPRESS OF IN CONCERT:
In her brief but bright musical career, Brooklyn-based dream pop ingenue Empress Of, a.k.a. Lorely Rodriguez, has established herself as one of the most compelling vocalists to emerge in recent memory. Whether she's emoting on dreamy chillwave tracks like "Don't Tell Me" or waxing philosophical to the glittering dance pop of "Realize You", Rodriguez's angelic voice imbues her music with a melancholy beauty and melodic tension that both captivate and provide release. At her live shows a handful of backing players provide tasteful touches to her otherworldly compositions, making for an immersive concert experience ticket buyers won't soon forget.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Brooklyn-based artist Lorely Rodriguez made her debut in 2012 with Color Minutes, an art pop experiment that paired 15 one-minute color frames uploaded to YouTube with sparkling musical accompaniment. The dreamy, arpeggiated sound established over the course of project came to fruition in 2013 with her heart-rending debut track "Don't Tell Me", which has amassed more than 100,000 plays on Soundcloud. Later in the year she released the EP Systems, a critically acclaimed collection of songs that displayed her vocal prowess and production finesse. In late 2013 she released "Realize You", a more dance-oriented track that has fans eagerly awaiting her full-length debut and future tour dates.
