Bob & Phil bring down the house in Beantown
by Splif on 3/16/18Boch Center Wang Theatre (formerly Citi Performing Arts Center) - BostonOther than a mediocre Touch of Grey encore and an exaggerated one hour+ intermission on Wednesday (3/7/18), Bob & Phil bought intense energy to two sets+encore lasting past the midnight hour on Wednesday. Personal highlight: whipped out a cover of Daniel Lanois' "The Maker," the first time I have heard this live. (The J.G.B. used to like to jam on this tune.) Guests Larry Campbell and wife Theresa Williams helped out in the second set; Larry really brings "it" on several stringed instruments Thursday night (3/8/18) was one the most memorable and tantalizing shows I've seen in my 39 years attending Dead-related shows. Girl From The North Country, a tasty Cosmic Charlie, Morning Dew, and an encore of It's All Over Now, Baby Blue were all the buzz (and rightfully so), but I was witnessed one of the best Cumberland Blues that I've ever heard. Campbell and Williams joined the boys again at the beginning of set two. TONS OF FUN!
